I am running a high availabilty appliocation on HPUX 11
and my application uses ORACLE 8.0.4.Now if I want to increase the SGA size of ORACLE 8.0.4 to be more than 0.8 GB for each node then is there a fix for it.
In a High Availabilty installation with HP Service gaurd, there are 2 nodes. If one node fails then the other node becomes active but there are 2 instances of ORACLE also running now on the same node which will be active, so we will need 1.6 GB of SGA. But the question is that if we want to have 1.2GB of SGA for each node then when a node fails then all the packets move to one node so this node now should be able to support 2.4 GB of SGA space.
This is supported by 8.0.5 and higher versions but not by 8.0.4. Is there a work around or a patch available for this.
