archivelogs older than retention policy don't delete [message #364962] Wed, 10 December 2008 11:51

Whe have three rman scripts. One for backups (scheduled on sundays) , one for archivelogs (scheduled everyday) and one
for "delete obsolete" (schedule everyday).

The older backup is in agreement with "RETENTION POLICY TO RECOVERY WINDOW OF 35 DAYS", so "delete obsolete" erase correctly database backups, what's more, i see in delete obsolete logs, erase of backups. The problem is that archivelogs backups, are no deleted and i have archivelogs older than three months, skiping the retention policy. According documentation, this only possible if there were a data file o controlfile older than retention policy (keep clause), but is not the case.

So, are there any bug about this. I have Oracle 10g.
