Hi,
I am running sql query to uopdate CLOB column but i am getting follwoing error:
ORA-00932: inconsistent datatypes: expected - got CLOB


update PROD set LONG_DES = '' where ID like 'Prod3%' and LONG_DESC = 'null'

Post a test case: create table and insert statements along with the result you want with these data.

Also always post your Oracle version (4 decimals).

Hi,

You can use the TO_CHAR() function for explicit conversion...

update PROD set LONG_DES = '' where ID like 'Prod3%' and TO_CHAR(LONG_DES) = 'null';
