Hello Folks,

I'm a very newbie here and I have a quick question for ORACLE
TNSlistner and Database.

As far as I understand, if a client setups the connection to
Listener, Database lets the client know "new" port(random)
information by using "REDIRECT" message.

I want to test such an scenario with my firewall but client is
using only 1521 port. I didn't configure anything for this. (keep the base config to touch it). - Also I updated my registry with following key.

ORACLE_SHARED_SOCKET=FALSE. (under Software > Oracle)

Also I sent SELECT/INSERT queries to Listener but traffics are
only on port 1521. (No new port / REDIRECT msg).

I'm using Oracle SQL developer and TOAD as a client and I tested
sqlplus as well on client.

This happens on Oracle 11g.

Any comments and info will be very welcomed!

Save me! Wink

Best regards,

- yongseok
