Dear all,

I have takedn export dump of owner in windows machine.While trying to import it in hp-ux 11.3, we get following error.

gbss_svr :/tmp >imp file=data.dmp analyze=n log=imp1.log fromuser=channelg

With the Partitioning, OLAP, Data Mining and Real Application Testing options

Export file created by EXPORT:V09.02.00 via conventional path
import done in US7ASCII character set and AL16UTF16 NCHAR character set
import server uses WE8MSWIN1252 character set (possible charset conversion)
export client uses WE8MSWIN1252 character set (possible charset conversion)
. importing CHANNELG's objects into CHANNELGMemory fault(coredump)

On seraching in Hp site, they asked to check value of maxdsiz & maxdsiz_64 as 256M, but values are already more.maxdsiz 1073741824 Default Immed
maxdsiz_64bit 4294967296 Default Immed

Machine memory : 8 gb.
SGA-> 800 MB
Please advise.

Did you check alertlog file?
Can you post more details.

Did you check METALINK for the subjected error message.

Or 800MB for the 8GB ram is too less you need to increase SGA size.

Seems You are using 10g version of imp to read the dmp created by 9i.

I would always use the lower version of exp to exp and the same lower version to import.
In your case,
import using the 9i version of imp in windows server into the 10g database in unix.
