Hi

Wonder if someone could help me with this question.

I currently have 2 aix LPAR's one is running a database under the OS user oracle

On the second LPAR i want to set up another database but i might have difficulties using the OS user oracle to do my install. The problem is the ORACLE os user has its os HOME directory set up on the first LPAR. If i use the oracle user on the second LPAR then it will share it OS home on the first LPAR. If the first LPAR fails over for any reason then i would loss the OS home for the oracle user on LPAR 2 for a short period of time.

So my question is should i set up another Oracle os user on LPAR 2, for exmaple set up a os user called oracle2 or is this not advised or best practive to do this.

Hope that all makes sense
