Thanks for immediate reply.

But i need know only the Value as been defined to the NOT NULL column.

Ex:

Select emplno,category from Employdtls where
       category like 'S%';

Emplno category
------ --------
0002 SE01
0003 ST01
0006 SP01
0008 ST01
0010 SE01

I need has default value for Category is S01.

And the Output like.

Emplno category
------ --------
0002 S01
0003 S01
0006 S01
0008 S01
0010 S01

Hard code it ..

 ... 'S01' category from Employdtls

Or Use NVL2 to do something different for NULL Values also .

Thumbs Up

If I understand your question, you have a column with a default value and you want the rows that have this default value.
Is this question?
If not, explain what is the question.

Michel
