hi,

is it the command DESC to diplay the table definition?

kind of.
It is just a "description".
By "definition", it usually means the whole DDL along with storage. Use DBMS_METADATA for that.

but what would be the format to display like how can i write the syntax then?
and does this comman support sql*plus?

Please rephrase.
I have no idea what you are talking about.
In sql*plus "desc" will give a short description/summary.
To get the DDL use
DBMS_METADATA (check this forum/google/docs on how to invoke/use dbms_metadata).

hello mahesh, i searched to find the dbms_metadata but not work in sql*plus i am afraid.

is there any command like \db .. to display the table definition??

It works in SQL*Plus.
