I am trying to execute the UNIX commands from the form. I am using the HOST command/built-in. But the command is not working from the form.

When I execute the same command from PUTTY in applfisd, the command executed successfully.

For testing I am using the following command in the form:

HOST (‘rm $TF_TOP/delfile.txt’);

This code I have added in WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE. The expected result is that the file delfile.txt should be removed from the path $TF_TOP, when the form is opened.

But the file is not removed.

Please let me know your inputs to resolve this issue.

The host command is executed in a NEW session, not your current one. You have to establish the environment so that it looks like your current one (do a ". .profile"?).

Have a look at http://www.orafaq.com/forum/m/347580/67467/?srch=host+script#msg_347580
