Dear ALL ,

select f1 ,f2,f3 from various_tables where condition into TEMP tab1 ;

again
select f1 ,f2,f3 from various_tables where condition into TEMP tab2 ;

select * from tab1 union all select * from tab2 ;

this works in informix database , it is assumed that tab1 and tab2 are automatically created in TEMP tablespace.

Does same happens in oracle 10g R2 ? please advice .
Does TEMP tablespace , creates tables when select and insert operation is found in sqlplus ??

No this does not exist in Oracle.
Most of the time, Oracle does not need temp table.

You can create (global) temporary table and "insert select" into them.
