Morning,

I have been asked to extract records and put them in a flat file. Simple enough, however they would like an audit trail.

Now the way I was going to do this is insert a record into a temporary table with a status, however is it possible to spool a log file indicationg which records have been processed etc.....

Many thanks

What i understood from this is that you wan't to generate
a log file and next time you don't wan't to include
the records that are already processed.

As i am not clear what is your requirement i am giving a
hint i.e. UTL_FILE and mark status of the record as processed
after writing to file

Rajat

That is exactly what I want to do, with the log file indicating what files have been processed...

You can use an external table to read what's inside your log file.

Thanks for the UTL_FILE mention, looks like that's what I'll go for.

Cheers
