Hi,
I have to create the dmp file on the click of a button on the form in a dot net application. I have exported the database through command prompt.
Can you please help me as what command to write on the click event of the button so that a dump file gets created in a specified directory.

I am new to this and not much done on this part. SO please help me on this.

Regards,
Mahi

"How to execute an operating system command (which Export utility is) from a dot net application" is a dot net question, not Oracle one. Perhaps you should search for the answer to this question in the more appropriate (dot net) forum.

Hi,
I have to use the exp command from oracle only but it would be embedded in Dot Net.
Please let me know the commandline syntax for exporting a dmp file when I have the parameters for username, password, servicename, databasename.
I have to execute the command from a client and the dump file needs to be created on the server.
Is it possible....please help me on this...after knowing the commandline I will try to embedd in dot net.

Thanks for your help,
Mahi

This is not possible unless you can mount the server file system onto the client.
