hi friends,

please tell me solution to correct this
SQL>
SQL> connect guru/guru;
Connected.
SQL> create table emp5(no char(10));
create table emp5(no char(10))
*
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-01647: tablespace 'System' is read only, cannot allocate space in it


SQL>

SQL>
SQL> connect gurus/guru;
Connected.
SQL> create table emp4(no char(10));
create table emp4(no char(10))
*
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-01647: tablespace 'user_1' is read only, cannot allocate space in it

And It's very bad to assign a user to store data in system tablespace.You should always allocate a seperate tablespace for user operations.

Do not try DDL or DML against read only tablespaces.
Operate on with a supported configuration.

hi..
while creating a new user in oracle we must create a new tablespace for it...
table space means every user will have a space where all his tables created will be stored....
then this kind of error will not occur....

Make sure your database is opened in read/write mode and not read only one.
