Release Release 9.2.0.8 Window Professional 2002
strConnection = "Provider=OraOLEDB.Oracle;"Data Source=OracleDBase;" & "User ld=user;"Password=password;"

I am trying to connect to oracle database using this connect string from VB. Can anybody give me a little hint about Provider meaning..

First your statement is not a valid one.
Then provider indicates the driver you will use to access the database.
