Dear Friends
I have facing this problem on live db for quite a long time.
My db server ram is 4gb and my database size is 5gb.
my total sga size is 400mb and pga_aggregate_target is 50mb.
Should i increase the process value directly or i have to
made some adjustment in my memory settings either at
db level or server level.
I have monitor my process value 150 reached twice a day.So

I'm going to update my SGA and PGA related parameters,so please let me know is it solve my current problem.

shared pool size 128mb to 224mb
db_cache_size 48mb to 120mb
pga_aggregate_target 48mb to 144mb

Some more information of my problem,
not any other thing reside on my db server other than database,
my application server is also oracle9i application server.My application is (Java/JSP).

Parameters value depend on what you do and not only on how many do it.

Can you tell me what other tuning parameters or other thing i have to look to resolve this 'maximum number of process exceeded'.

To solve this error just increase "processes" value.
Now the other parameters depend on what you do with these processes.
