Hi guys, i'm a newbie in this forum.

I have installed forms builder 6.0.8.8.0 in a laptop with windows vista as an OS, i installed Developer 10g in same laptop and made it work(supposed to) but now problem is every time i launch forms builder 10g it crashes, it says nothing about it.

My question is, can i have installed both versions of forms builder in same laptop?

Thanks for any input

Forms 6 is ancient C/S technology & is/was not certified on Vista.

You're On Your Own (YOYO)!

Certainly; no problem about it. Just make sure every Oracle product (I mean EVERY - Developer Suite, Database, etc.) is installed into its own Oracle Home (directory).

That's more or less everything about peaceful coexistence between these two Developer Suite versions.

However, the fact that you managed to install unsupported combination of Developer Suite + Operating system doesn't mean it will successfully work. You may expect that Forms 6i will suddenly crash without previous warning; on the other hand, you might be lucky and enjoy working with it.

As it is Forms 10g that doesn't work, hm, I don't know. Did you install them separately? Was there any error during installation process? Did you check installation log file?

Thanks for the reply Littlefoot =), yes, i installed 6i without any problems, i worked a few months with it and everything was ok.

After that installed 10g and it didn't want to install because of operating system wasn't supported, i changed a file of OS supported for installer and didn'r do it, searching in internet found that i need to create a bigger virtual space in windows vista, after that installation was succesful Smile

10g worked ok but 6i didn't, changed some windows reg and now 6i is working but 10g crashes every time i start it Sad I'll try reinstalling 10g to see what happens.
