I started Enterprise manager from server side.

oracle@linux:~> emctl status dbconsole
TZ set to Asia/Calcutta
Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Database Control Release 10.2.0.1.0
Copyright (c) 1996, 2005 Oracle Corporation. All rights reserved.
http://lin:1158/em/console/aboutApplication
Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g is running.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Logs are generated in directory /home/oracle/product/10gR2/linux.site_ora01/sysman/log

Port information
oracle@linux:~/product/10gR2> cat ./install/portlist.ini
iSQL*Plus HTTP port number =5560
Enterprise Manager Console HTTP Port (ora01) = 1158
Enterprise Manager Agent Port (ora01) = 3938

When i try to access EM through http://lin:1158/em/ at server side (Linux) then it works.

But when i used the same http://lin:1158/em/ from client(windows) side then it gives "page cannot be displayed"

Please let me know do i need to do some setting to access from client end?

Thanks,

Are you running iptables on the server and/or do you have a firewall on your client?

Please tell what are iptables?

And i guess there must be firewall on the client.

How can i break the firewall/what configuration needs to do?
Or any other way access from client

Thanks,

Just what did you search for on Google? Did your search terms consist of "iptables" and "windows firewall"? Since you don't mention what flavor of Windows you are using, I'll presume XP ??

Then the server name must not be in your DNS, therefore you can add an entry into your Windows client host file (C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts) to resolve the server name for you.

Thanks for posting back your results.
