Hi,

I am trying to make a global temporary table from plan_Table (of Explain Plan feature). I am getting an error

create global temporary table plans_table as select * from plan_table where 1=2

Quote:
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00997: illegal use of LONG datatype

The plan_table has a column (OTHER) which is a LONG column. How else can I include a long column while creating another table?

LONG datatype is deprecated & should be avoided.

If you insist to use it,
then manually CREATE TABLE .....

Copy and modify utlxplan.sql script in $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin directory.
