hi all,
i have a table holding 11 million records and i created a bitmap
index on that table and when i select the data from that table
it is taking more than 5 to 6 minutes i think is very long time
all made all required tuning to make my retrival fast but no use
can some body tell me the things what to do, may be iam missing something which may be the cause.
please help soon.

Are statistics current?

what size of table?
show us execution plan
what cardinality of indexed column
write more detail information please.
