Hi All,

Just a quick question, If I will change the table structure whether the view will be invalid or it will not effect?

It depends upon the nature of the change & what is in the view.

Thankss ana, Just increased the length of one of the column and that column is used in the view.

So will i have to recompile the view and please tell me reason also.

What reason?

The view will recompile itself the next time you select from it.

sorry, it means when we select the data from the view it will recomplie. is it correct reason?

Try it. See for yourself.
You _will_ end up trying it anyway, as I cannot imagine that you will believe us, just because we say so.
Really, trying things on a local db teaches you more than asking others.

Dear Frank/Ana/JRow,

I will definitly try the same but presently I am in Test Management project so Oracle is not loaded in my Laptop. But I will try it myself.

How hard is it or much work is it to download XE and install?

If you're in the Oracle business, you should ALWAYS have the ability to access a database for these kinds of tests.
