The Director, Database Services will support a 24 x 7 data service and dynamic website. The position will be responsible for the management of a highly technical team responsible for a large volume of complex data transactions. The Director will also establish and maintain standards and procedures for database development and application implementation.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
# Provide strong leadership to a group that performs ongoing database administration, maintenance, troubleshooting, tuning, installation, backup/recovery, and data migration of Oracle databases running on Linux servers in multiple environments.
# Mentor and develop DBAs, Data Architects and Developers on practices and methods.
# Maintain and develop the corporate Oracle Financial Applications R11i infrastructure.
# Work closely with Project Management, Software Development, QA and Production to coordinate product releases.
# Advise senior management on best practices regarding data warehousing, data architecture, and data development, including release and build management.
# Minimum of 5 years experience leading or managing a team of DBA's that includes direct personnel management, coaching, performance reviews, conflict resolution, etc.
# Minimum 7 years related experience, preferably with Oracle 9i/10g administration, programming, and architecture.
# Solid understanding of database and data warehouse design is essential.
# Proven expertise in Oracle advanced features such as RAC, Data Guard, partitioning, streams, replication, and parallel processing, is required.
# Background in 9i and 10g administration and development with GRID, RAC and OEM
# Strong understanding of the relationship of databases with respect to complex business processes and the resulting support and data architecture requirements.
# Demonstrated experience in database administration, backup and recovery, data modeling, SQL tuning, database monitoring and security within the last 3 years.
# Demonstrated leadership in the completion of large database projects and delivery of business goals.
# Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. Equivalent experience may be substituted.
