Hi,

Currently we have Single/common database for multiple applications..
e.g., One database D1
and the Application Envs A1,A2.
In the application env A1 and A2
the java codes are different but they are using the same package P1 from database D1.
But,when Application A2 Relavent changes required
the package P1 in D1 shld be changed accordingly and the java changes will be deplyoed on A2.
So,A2 Application works fine.
But,because of that changes A1 is not working.
So,can any one help how to handle such scenario's.
as we can't maintain 2 seperate databases.
And also we don't wanted to rename the database packages which are calling from the java in both the applications.

Don't use code tags if you have no code or take care your lines do not exceed 80 characters.

Use 2 schemas.

If I understand what you say, you have 2 versions of program so use 2 schemas to store them and address the one that matches your version, for instance using alter session set current_schema.

this is how the problem is

E.g., Yahoo And Gmail are the two applications.
These two applications are using the same database called D1's Package Mail_Det_pkg.

But,after some time Yahoo site had change request and they added some more features to there application. So,the package Mail_Det_pkg in database D1 undergone changes.

But,Since Gmail is also using the same package Mail_Det_pkg from D1 there application is effects.

I want to handle such secnario's without changing the package name in Yahoo,Gmail application (in java code).as some time later Gmail may also implement this feature.

The above is only sample scenario.
I want to handle this scenario.

Thanks,

This is what I said, they use the same package name in 2 different schemas.
