Hi,

I recently had a severe slowdown in performance as the hard disk housing the databases had reached full capacity.

Now, an additional 10 GB has been added to the disk.

However, the performance is still not back to normal. It has improved but has not yet gotten back to its earlier speed.

Is a DB restart required if I wish the performance to go back to normal?

Thanks,

Sharath

Have a look at a Statspack, and try to work out what is causing the slowdown, rather than just shutting down the DB and hoping.

Subject says memory added. Did you add memory or hard disk space, or both? Adding disk space would have no influence on performance.

Hi Joy,

We added hard disk space only, 10 GB. Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks,

Sharath
