Hi,

We got a error message shared pool out of memory for the TEST datbase
and DBA did change the parameter and has restarted the DB Instance,
But as a result few packages got Invalid,
The Question is since it was a Valid Functional Database, Testing team was using it
after restart the code is Invalid, does restarting a instance with Normal method also invalidates some Code.

It's on 9i rel 2.

Thanks

Starting a database does not validate or invalidate procedures.

Are we supposed to guess the specific error?

>and DBA did change the parameter and has restarted the DB Instance,

Are we supposed to guess what was changed?

>after restart the code is Invalid, does restarting a instance with Normal method also invalidates some Code.

The answer is a definite, maybe or it depends.

Typically invalid packages get automagically recompiled when touched.

Thanks for Quick response,
Here is the answer's for Anacedent Qst

Quote:
[Exception: ORA-04031: unable to allocate 4200 bytes of shared memory ("shared pool","unknown object","library cache","kkslpkp - literal info.")
]

SGA and Shared pool were changed.

Thanks All, but as i said before no body knows the Owner password to compile the code, DBA just restarted and handed over, So the mystery is then how did 8 packages out of 40 got invalid.

Thanks
