Hi,
I need to give DBA with read only privilages to master schema.

Scripts:

grant dba to mster:

After that, i able to select the system tables and also possible to do some DML operations on SYSTEM tables.

I need only select the system tables but not to do any DML operation in SYSTEM tables.

Which privilages is suitable for this scenario?

Thanks,
Michael

I think there is a conflict.
If the user has DBA privilege then the user can update system tables.

Enumerate the tables & GRANT SELECT on them.

Sure, if you wish to start your own language, you make any syntax you desire to be acceptable.

Until then, I suggest you refer to the following:
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14200/toc.htm
for what is correct & allowed syntax.
