Even though fields required property set to "Yes", Not getting "Field must be entered" while navigating out of block.

But after migration, started getting the error "Field must be entered" while navigating out of block(Clicking button which is outside the regular block).
But, if we develop form 11g by setting "Required" property to "Yes", not getting the error.

As well tried with "validation unit" set to "Item" level and "Defer Required Enforcement" set to "4.5" and as well to "Yes"

Even then getting the "Field must be entered"

Please let us know any solution to fix Field must be entered issue.

Hi

In your table creation, maybe you mentioned that field to be not null.

If you are really not getting the error, check the database to see what value is in there. Maybe you loaded a "space" into a VARCHAR2 field via some bad code.

I really don't know what is happening based on the description you gave.

Same problem here after migration. Any known solution?

Of course you can set the field property Required to No. But I don't think that is the right way.

OPs problem was that the system wasn't telling him a field was required when he hadn't entered anything even though required was set to Yes.

So setting required to No is definitely not the right way for that.

Are you sure you've got the same problem?

Oh.
I have the opposite problem.
After migration several places in forms started to throw this error.
This error kind of makes sense but I wonder why didn't the error appear in 6i.
The idea was that the migration wouldn't impact the behavior of forms but it did Smile

Well if you have the fields set to required then the old version should have thrown that error at some point if you didn't enter anything.
So is the point at which it is doing the check changed?

"at some point" yes, but not when just navigating to a different block item.
GO_ITEM was the one that caused the error in new forms.
Anyway...I gave up - made it Required: No Smile

Will handle the mandatory of the item later.

Have a look at the validation unit and defer required enforcement properties at form level.

Yes, tried the "Defer Required Enforcement" set to "No" or "4.5".
Didn't help.

I suspect you want it set to Yes and validation unit set to something other than item.

Yes, setting the form level <Validation unit> to "Form" helped.
Thanks.
