Hi All,
I am totally new in this forum as well as beginner level of Oracle. I installed Oracle Database 11g Release 2 (11.2.0.1.0) Enterprise Edition. Now I don't know which one in the start menu I need to use to start Oracle so that I can practice PL/SQL.

Thanks,

Mike

Open a DOS box, set ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID variable, include %ORACLE_HOME\bin in %PATH and execute "sqlplus /nolog".
Then you can start to connect and practice.

The links Michel has provided should help get you to the point where and Oracle instance is running. As far as learning to code in PL/SQL and working with it, I'd highly recommend downloading and installing SQL*Developer. I've done old-school SQL*Plus command-line PL/SQL development... and likely will again (if forced to at gunpoint). However, I certainly prefer the convenience of a development environment that makes it easier to see and change my code at need.

I too, am looking to load up Oracle 11g and PL/SQL on my laptop at home to practice. Hopefully there is a practice database to download.

No it is not.

I omitted this statement from my post which was an error on my part:
"I'll dig around and see what I can locate".
